All that glitters...

Mavala (213) Pure Diamond, or Pure joy in my eyes!
Let's start by saying this, I ADORE glitter varnishes with a passion, there's only one thing I love more and that a good duo-chrome.

This is such a beautiful varnish, what could be better than microfine pieces of rainbow glitter? Nothing I tell you. So far I've gone through four bottles of this stuff "glamming" up those drab varnishes I thought were a good idea and it's never failed to impress. As sad as it sounds I have lost hours staring at my nails once they have been painted with this because it's just so hypnotizing.

The consistency of the varnish is perhaps a little thick and once painted on it can make your nails feel a little rough, nothing a good top coat cannot smooth out mind you! I've found this varnish to be both hard-wearing and beautiful. I have but two issues with this varnish, for one it is impossible to find around where I live! It's most upsetting but the closest place that sells it is a good drive away. That is of course minor, the real issue is the cost. I paid £4 for a tiny 5ml bottle, it just does not go far enough especially as it's hard to use it sparingly once you've seen how gorgeous it looks!

This is my favourite combination for this varnish, a simple silver base with pure diamond on top, it doesn't really need the silver underneath but it means you can use less varnish so it lasts longer. x)

Sadly, I'm on my last bottle that I received as a Christmas present, I'm hoping to either find a decent substitute or some more in my local shop some time soon, if all else fails, to the internet!

Nail Varnish of the Month!

This lovely little varnish is i104A by New York Color, not a very inspiring name I know but please don't judge based on that! My camera was hardly wonderful at capturing just how lovely this varnish is. This is a very pale pearlescent polish that has many colours. I'd say it was mostly a blue-green shimmer but with plenty of others thrown in as well! Although I now adore this polish it is not without fault, it is very watery and my nail tips were still visible even with five coats on! When paired with a pearly undercoat the finished effect is very pleasing providing a unique finish that transforms in the light!

I picked this varnish up from TJ-Hughes for just 50p, an absolute bargain in my own opinion for such a fun little varnish. If at all possible I shall be returning there to nab a few more bottles before they're gone.
What a nightmare to capture! You can just make out the green and blue flashes but sadly my camera really doesn't do this polish justice.

Barry M Instant Nail Effects!

Yes, like most I rushed to the store to by "Black Magic", I even persuaded my boyfriend to buy me a few bottles I enjoyed using it that much! I'll admit it's not the best polish in the world and it doesn't always come out how I wanted but overall I found it a fun product to use, something no other varnish has offered me. (Other than OPI, but at a far cheaper price might I add!) ANYWAY,  I'm not here to ramble about my love of past colours, the three new ones are the ones that have caught my eye.

The new colours feature a white, blue and hot pink. I recently picked mine up from Boots during a two for £5 offer, good value in my opinion!

Having used "Black Magic" I'd always wondered if Barry M would come out with some new colours for me to play with. I was most skeptical about the pink, I'm not a pink person by any means but I had to buy at least one bottle to test.

At the moment the pink is the only one I've used, I wanted to test whether it was actually worth my time. I'm actually very pleased with how it turned out, after the initial struggle over what to wear it with this was the finished product, please excuse the chipped nails!

Overall I still had issues with the varnish "gunking" up the side of the bottle, which admittedly is my own fault, but I was very pleased with the end effect and the price I had paid! I'm sure I'll be nipping down to Boots to pick up a few more bottles whenever possible.
